We are proud to share that our founder, MJ Jackson, has lent her voice as a Black advocate in the impactful PSA with Song for Charlie. Representing marginalized communities, MJ continues to raise awareness about the fentanyl crisis and the importance of having these vital conversations. Let’s keep pushing for change together!
The Royal Rose Foundation is committed to uplifting communities through advocacy, education, and support. Grounded in culturally relevant programs, we address systemic inequities that disproportionately impact Black, Brown, and other BIPOC communities. Recognizing the overlapping crises of the fentanyl epidemic, housing instability, trauma and systemic neglect, we provide a full spectrum of services: prevention education, basic-needs assistance, youth leadership development and family support. We create welcoming spaces where healing, empowerment and community safety come first.
Through meaningful partnerships with local organizations, leaders and families, we ensure community members—regardless of background—have access to the support and resources they need to thrive. Our focus is on safety, equity, and empowerment.
1. Educate & Inform
Increase public awareness about the dangers of illicit fentanyl through school programs, community events, and online campaigns that promote prevention and lifesaving knowledge.
2. Center BIPOC Communities
Build safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive spaces that ensure representation, access, and trust for Black and Brown communities most impacted by the opioid crisis and systemic inequities.
3. Expand Harm Reduction Access
Provide Narcan kits, overdose-prevention education, and community-based training to individuals and organizations so every person is equipped to save a life.
4. Strengthen Community Response
Enhance our ability to respond directly to the needs of our community through hands-on engagement, outreach, and collaborative action. This goal focuses on remaining adaptable, responsive, and community-led—ensuring we continue to meet people where they are and bridge gaps in access, support, and opportunity.
5. Build Connection & Collective Healing
Create spaces where community members can gather, share experiences, and support one another through healing-centered dialogue and action.
6. Empower Youth Leaders
Offer leadership opportunities and skill-building workshops that equip youth to advocate for prevention, healing, and change in their communities.

With the recent federal SNAP pause, families in East County are facing sudden food insecurity. The Royal Rose Foundation is stepping up to provide $100 grocery gift cards and care kits filled with essentials to those most affected
Our Story
Sheres, also known as "Royal Rose," was a beloved mother, sister, daughter, and caregiver whose life was tragically cut short by an unforeseen and preventable incident. Her passing was the result of a counterfeit drug, which led to her untimely death. Sheres’s loss has left a profound impact on her family, including her three young sons, a grandchild, and her eldest daughter, MJ Jackson.
In memory of her mother, MJ founded this organization with a mission to raise awareness about the dangers of counterfeit drugs and the fentanyl crisis. Our aim is to educate the community, promote prevention, and ultimately save lives. By uniting and taking action, we strive to make a positive difference and work towards a safer and healthier future for all.
